The wines we’ll taste:
2018 Old Stake 1901 Vineyard
This rare field blend is made from our historic Old Stake 1901 Vineyard. There are more than 15 different grape varieties represented – primarily Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet, and Cinsault, accented by Touriga Naçional, Syrah, Primitivo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Counties from vines some of which were planted over a century ago. It offers a succulent mouthful of berries wrapped in refreshing acidity. These exotic flavors are darkened in a subtle frame of French oak, giving one the lingering impression of grilled fig and mocha. A truly unique wine.
2019 Lake County Rosé
Pale peach color hints at a dry yet aromatically fulfilling wine. Aromas of Alpine strawberry, fresh plum and honeydew melon are accented by an exotic note of cardamom. On the palate, yellow plum and strawberry fruits are enlivened by brisk minerality and a hint of savory fresh thyme. The finish offers a refreshing dry mineral sensation that is lifted by hints of garden herbs. With just a whisper of color, but loads of flavor, this is an enthralling wine of great complexity that is refreshing and fun to drink.
